GDirect - Google Drive Direct Link Generator

The first and most crucial step is to get the correct shareable link from the file you wish to create a direct download link for. Go to your Google Drive, locate the file, right-click on it, and select "Get link". A dialog box will appear. Under "General access", make sure the setting is changed from "Restricted" to "Anyone with the link". You can typically leave the permission as "Viewer" or higher for direct downloads. Once the setting is correct, click "Copy link". This is the URL you will paste into GDirect.

Return to the GDirect website. You will see two tabs: "Single Link" and "Batch Links".

• If you have multiple links to convert, click on the "Batch Links" tab. Paste each of your copied Google Drive shareable links into the large text area labeled "Paste multiple Google Drive file links here (one per line)". Once your link(s) are pasted into the appropriate input area:

• For a single link, click the prominent "Generate Direct Link" button located below the input field.
• For batch links, click the "Generate Batch Direct Links" button below the text area.

GDirect's client-side script will immediately process the provided Google Drive link(s) to extract the unique file ID necessary for creating the direct download URL.

After clicking the generate button, the output area will become visible, displaying the result(s):

• For single link generation, the generated direct download URL will appear as a clickable link.
• For batch link generation, a text area will populate with a list of the generated direct download URLs, each on a new line corresponding to your input links.

To easily grab the generated link(s), click the "Copy Link" button (for single) or "Copy All Links" button (for batch). The button will temporarily change to "Copied!" to confirm the action. You can now paste and use these direct links wherever you need them – for sharing via email, social media, embedding on your website, or any application that supports direct file downloads.

Remember: The continued functionality of the generated direct link relies on the original Google Drive file remaining accessible to "Anyone with the link".
